Perm Mayor Eduard Sosnin Becomes Deputy Chairman of the Association of Volga Cities

On March 6, a general meeting of members of the Volga Region Cities Association was held. It was attended by heads and deputy heads of such cities as Izhevsk, Samara, Balakovo, Ulyanovsk, Naberezhnye Chelny, Volgograd, Ufa and others.
As part of the meeting, elections of the governing bodies of the Volga Region Cities Association took place. Thus, the heads of Astrakhan, Yoshkar-Ola, Penza, Samara and Cheboksary were elected to the Board of the Association. And the head of Perm Eduard Sosnin was elected deputy chairman of the Volga Region Cities Association.
The meeting also discussed issues of providing assistance to family members of the SVO participants, providing qualified personnel for public transport enterprises, plans for 2025 and more. Thus, the head of Perm Eduard Sosnin presented his colleagues from other cities with the experience of organizing the work of public transport in Perm.
Perm is one of the first cities in the country to carry out a transport reform and has been repeatedly noted by federal experts as one of the leaders in terms of public transport development. Perm's experience can be useful for other cities that are only at the beginning of their journey to improve their transport systems. Due to the fact that our city, like many others, has faced a shortage of drivers, the Department of Transport has developed a set of measures aimed at reducing the shortage and attracting new personnel to the industry. It is aimed not only at increasing wages, but also working with the route network, infrastructure and training program.
